COURSE OUTLINE AND PURPOSE:

This one and a half day workshop is designed for staff in primary schools who support pupils with a range of special educational needs. The purpose of this course is to enable participants to consider alternative ways in which they can make provision for pupils with special educational needs in order for them to make improved progress. There will be opportunities to learn from each other through reflective practice by developing and sharing best practice. The findings of the research will be shared on the second session.

This programme is for TAs who want to be consistently effective in promoting positive learning outcomes for all pupils they support. The Olevi Outstanding TA Programme will give access to a deeper understanding of how pupils learn and the necessary skills to secure consistently positive impact on pupil learning. The consistent application of the principles and skills acquired from the OTAP Programme should enable TAs to be judged by their schools as highly effective.

The programme is set over 5 mornings/afternoons and it is essential that you can attend all sessions. It is recommended that a minimum of 2 delegates come from each school.

COURSE OUTLINE AND PURPOSE:

This course will look at some of the technologies used in school to support learning as well as developing skills that will support you in your role as teaching assistant. This course is a hands on workshop, providing teaching assistants the time to explore with technologies to build confidence and skills in using them.

 

The course aims to develop personal computer skills and confidence in using different ICT tools to support learners in school

 

The session will focus on using technology to build confidence and develop skills in using publisher to create resources, using Smart Interactive Whiteboard & software to develop resources.

Course outline AND PURPOSE:

This two day course will give participants a better understanding of autism and why children with autism behave in certain ways. It will also give participants a range of practical ideas to use on a daily basis with the children they support.

Please note: this course replaces the two-day reception autism course with Helen Cooke (nee Blatchford). Anyone who has attended the two day course should not attend this replacement course.

COURSE OUTLINE AND PURPOSE:

This is a course designed to enable TAs working with Early Years pupils to more effectively support pupil learning in the Early Years stage. It is designed to meet the needs of those who do not hold the NNEB qualification or equivalent Level 3 NVQ. Or serve as a refresher for those who gained their relevant Level 3 some time ago.

Applicants who secure a place will need to attend both sessions which are scheduled from 9.30-3.30pm.
