The purpose of the session
Taking on the role of governing a school is a big responsibility; those who do so want to make a real contribution to ensuring better outcomes for pupils. We know that governing schools is complex and to be effective a good knowledge of the education sector is required - specifically in the areas of school performance and school funding. This programme is designed to give you a good grounding of the role and responsibilities, and the knowledge that is needed to become a catalyst for strong governance.
This course aims to Raise Awareness of Prevent (WRAP) and explores Prevent’s objectives and explains how the programme operates. Updates are given on risks (local and national), recent case studies, and online threat. This has been tailored for education settings and covers spotting signs of radicalisation, how to make referrals, and best practice for both proactive and reactive strategies.
This webinar will focus on the importance of engaging stakeholders and ensuring that they are involved in decision making. The session will reflect on the good communication and effective engagement and reflect on the value of both.
